Find Alachua County Release Mugshots

A mugshot of a released Alachua County inmate is tied to a specific arrest or corrections record. The photo may appear in the sheriff's current booking result, an official records response, a state corrections detail, or a registry that applies only to a defined legal class. Finding an Alachua County booking photo after release therefore starts with the agency and booking number, not a broad image gallery. Release from custody does not erase the source record, but public access can change after roster removal, sealing, expunction, or a lawful removal request to a covered commercial publisher.

Alachua Release Mugshot Records

A booking photograph documents appearance at the time an agency processed an arrest or custody event. The ACSO live inmate result labels it Picture or Inmate Image. Its presence does not establish guilt or reveal the later case outcome. Read the image with the booking number, arrest agency, booked date, and Clerk disposition. A later dismissal or other disposition may be recorded elsewhere.

Florida public-record law generally permits inspection of nonexempt agency records under reasonable conditions. Yet a public release date does not open every file. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, protected investigative, medical, mental-health, victim, and safety-sensitive material may be restricted. The agency may redact exempt parts and should identify the legal basis. The photo request must be directed to the agency that created or holds the image.

An image can remain an arrest record after a person leaves jail even when the current roster no longer displays it. ACSO does not publish an online retention period for released profiles. The absence of a current search result therefore says only that the portal does not display that booking now. It does not prove release, expunction, or destruction of the official photo.

The best channel depends on custody type. A county-jail-only photo belongs with ACSO. A person who entered state prison may have a different FDC image. FDLE registry photos apply only to people required to register. News and commercial pages can preserve a copy, but neither is the authoritative source for current custody or case status.

The live ACSO inmate portal is captured below as the official current-booking channel.

The form has no released-person or recent-release selector, so an image found there must not be described as a completed release photo without a booking-out record.

Note: A booking image identifies an arrest event, while the Alachua Clerk docket and agency release record establish the later legal and custody result.

Alachua Release Mugshots and App

ACSO's current result can display an Inmate Image. Once the person leaves the live roster, that image may no longer be reachable from the public portal. There is no official 24-hour or 72-hour release feed and no stated public photo-retention window. Saving a current result is not a substitute for requesting the agency's booking image and completed release record.

ACSO also promotes an official sheriff app. The public store description documents news, tips, reports, and public-safety features, but it does not document an inmate search, recent-release list, or mugshot archive. The official ACSO app listing can be checked for current features, but no photo or release function should be promised unless it is directly verified in the app.

The manifest image below shows that official listing.

The listing supports describing the app as an agency channel while preserving the key limit: public documentation does not prove a released-photo archive exists.

A person who appears to vanish from the roster may have bonded out, completed time, transferred to FDC, moved to another county, entered USMS or ICE custody, or left after another court action. The Alachua County 24-hour release record route explains how to confirm the same-day event without relabeling current inmates as recent releases.

Request Alachua Release Mugshots

For a county booking, submit a focused request to ACSO. Identify the full name, date of birth if known, MNI or JBN, and approximate booking date. Ask for the releasable booking photograph associated with that booking in native electronic form. A focused request reduces the chance that staff must search several same-name events.

  1. Confirm the booking identifier from the current ACSO result, a prior record, or the court docket.
  2. Use the ACSO public-records request channel, call Department of Jail Records at (352) 491-4444, or visit the records window.
  3. Request “the releasable booking photograph associated with booking [number/date]” and ask for native electronic format.
  4. If part of the photo or record is withheld, ask the custodian to cite the exemption used for the redaction.
  5. Compare the returned photo with the booking and case. Do not treat the image as proof of current custody or the final disposition.

The Records Customer Service Window is at 2621 SE Hawthorne Road in Gainesville and operates from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. ACSO charges when a request reaches 20 pages or requires more than 15 minutes of staff time. Its page lists salary plus benefits for extensive staff work, calculated to the nearest quarter-hour beyond the first 15 minutes, plus copy and postage costs when applicable.

The Alachua County release-record search path shows how to pair that image request with the booking-out date, release authority, and destination. Those fields keep the photo tied to the correct custody event.

If the subject entered FDC custody, use the FDC public-records page and provide the DC number and date range. Section 944.605 requires FDC to create a digitized photograph within 60 days before an anticipated state-prison release and place it in the official workflow. Public production remains subject to exemptions.

The captured FDC records page is the official state-photo fallback.

FDC Alachua Release Mugshots

FDC details display official photographs for state inmates and released state prisoners when available. The Inmate Release search accepts a name or six-character DC number and can include aliases and photo controls. A released detail may show the photo, DC number, identity fields, Release Date, sentence history, and in-custody/out-custody history. It does not cover a person who served only in the Alachua County jail.

The official FDC released detail example is pictured below.

The combined photo and release fields make it more useful than an isolated image, while the state-only scope prevents it from being mistaken for a county booking database.

FDLE's sexual-offender/predator and career-offender databases can also display photos and specific legal statuses. Use them only for a person required to register under the relevant law. They are not broad mugshot tools. A registry absence proves nothing about a person who is outside its legal scope.

The FDLE sexual-offender and predator search is the official source for that limited class.

Its county and status controls should never be presented as a general released-inmate mugshot search.

Other Alachua Release Photo Copies

Official agency notices and local reporting may carry an arrest portrait. Such an item documents the reported event and publication date. It may not reflect dismissal, sealing, expunction, a later release, or renewed custody. Confirm the current status through ACSO, the Clerk, FDC, or another responsible agency before relying on an old image.

Commercial aggregators are described only as a category. No commercial mugshot publisher was found reliable enough to recommend. A copied image may have unclear sourcing and may remain online after the official portal changes. No commercial mugshot, data-broker, or removal-service URL is provided. The official booking record is the stronger source.

ACSO may publish official public-safety notices with portraits for defined events, including certain registry notifications. Those notices have a narrow purpose and should not be generalized into a countywide mugshot archive. Match each notice to the issuing agency record and date.

Remove Alachua Release Mugshots

Florida Statute § 901.43 targets covered commercial booking-photo publishers. A photographed person or legal representative can send a registered-mail request to the publisher's registered agent with enough identification and the specific photo. A covered publisher must remove it without charge within ten calendar days and must not republish it. The law bars soliciting or accepting payment for removal and provides enforcement tools for noncompliance.

The law is not a blanket deletion rule. It does not automatically make ACSO, FDC, FDLE, court, or legitimate news records confidential. An official source must apply the public-record law and any exemption that governs its copy. Do not pay or endorse a service to invoke the statutory commercial-publisher process.

Sealing and expunction are separate legal processes under Florida §§ 943.059 and 943.0585. The Alachua Clerk instructs an eligible petitioner with an FDLE Certificate of Eligibility to obtain the case materials, file through the Criminal Division, and wait for effective processing. A sealed record becomes confidential and exempt subject to statutory exceptions. An expunged record is handled as the expunction statute directs. Neither outcome should be guessed from a missing image.

Public-record and FCRA limit. This private resource is not a consumer reporting agency. Mugshot data may not be used for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose. Verify every image and status with the government office that created the record.

When an official Alachua County image appears to be attached to the wrong booking, contact the custodian with the MNI/JBN, disputed value, and source document. That is a data-correction request, not proof that a lawful record must be removed.

Note: Removal from one publisher does not prove the official photo was sealed, expunged, destroyed, or removed from every lawful source.
